2025 market research showed KMBC 9 News audience preference levels at all time highs. Shortly thereafter, a new graphics package and a newly available voiceover talent provided key ingredients to seize on positive viewer sentiment. A new positioning statement, “Kansas City’s News Leader,” acknowledged the station’s profile as voiced by local viewers. A new marketing campaign was kicked off with a six-part first wave of creative—all nodding to the research.
